The Upper Grand District School Board’s 3,000 plus dedicated teaching and support staff provide student success to over 35,000 students who attend our 65 elementary schools and 11 secondary schools in the City of Guelph, County of Wellington and County of Dufferin. The UGDSB covers the ancestral and traditional territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Six Nations of the Grand River, and Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territories.
The Upper Grand District School Board is looking for energetic and hard-working team players, with the knowledge to maintain institutional facilities in a safe and clean manner. You will have proven communication abilities with a passion for a positive customer service experience with staff, students and the public.
You have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (O.S.S.D.) or equivalent, an understanding of health and safety regulations as well as the WHMIS program and are willing and able to use ladders and scaffolds. A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required. Locations may vary and change throughout the UGDSB (view all locations here) as required.
Hourly rate is $20.03 plus 4% vacation pay in the CUPE union. There may be opportunity for successful temporary caretakers to become full-time. Daily hours and shift length may vary with multiple school assignments. While there is no minimum guarantee of hours per week, temporary caretakers can work up to a maximum of 40 scheduled hours per week with the possibility for agreed upon overtime.
