Job description
We are a not-for profit organization with charitable status. We provide support to individuals living with a life-limiting illness and their families through: community visiting hospice, hospice residence, equipment lending, caregiver support, and grief and bereavement services. All services are provided to the community at no charge.
Hiring for: Registered Practical Nurse
Duties in hospice residence:
- Provide direct patient care in our 3 bed hospice residence
- Assess patient health status and develop/follow individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by primary care provider
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and their families on disease progression, symptom treatment, and comfort measures
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as wound care, catheters, sub q ports, drains, CADD pumps
- Assist with infection control measures
- Document patient care and medication administration and delegation
-Coordinate admission/pronounce death as necessary
Part-Time Hours: 40 hours in the first pay period (two weeks) and 48 hours in the second pay period. 8-hour shifts. Our weekday shifts are days (7-3pm), evenings (3-11pm). The line Includes every other weekend (10am-6pm).
Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour
