Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Long Haul Driver to operate commercial vehicles across long distances. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This role offers the opportunity to work independently while ensuring timely delivery of goods, contributing to the efficiency of our logistics operations.
Duties
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks and commercial vehicles over long distances, following all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and maintenance needs
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate with dispatch regarding delivery status and any issues encountered during transit
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle operability
- Assist with warehouse operations, including freight handling, inventory management, and equipment operation
- Follow route plans efficiently to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and safety protocols
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, especially long-haul routes, is preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation, heavy equipment operation, and freight handling techniques is a plus
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting on trucks and related equipment
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and freight transportation
- Ability to work independently for extended periods, often involving overnight travel
- Physical ability to load/unload freight, operate heavy machinery, and perform vehicle inspections as required
- Prior experience with automotive repair or maintenance is advantageous but not mandatory
