At Velocity Machining & Welding, precision and quality are at the heart of what we do. We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to help maintain our high standards by inspecting machined parts, supporting quality processes, and ensuring customer expectations are met every step of the way.
About the Role
As Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting machined components to ensure they meet all engineering drawings, customer specifications, and quality requirements. Working closely with machining, production, and management teams, you will play a key role in maintaining product quality, minimizing defects, and supporting continuous improvement throughout the manufacturing process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform dimensional inspections of machined parts using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection tools
- Verify parts meet work order requirements, blueprints, and customer specifications
- Complete first article inspections and in-process inspections to ensure production quality standards are maintained
- Follow established quality control procedures, inspection plans, and documentation requirements
- Record inspection results and generate reports to highlight quality issues and non-conforming parts
- Communicate inspection findings to production personnel and quality management
- Communicate with customers regarding quality concerns, inspection results, product returns, and rework requirements
Qualifications
- 3 years minimum experience in Quality Control in a precision machine shop environment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, GD&T, and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency in using various precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Knowledge of CNC machining.
- Excellent attention to the finest details. Ability to identify minor defects and inconsistencies.
- Familiarity with relevant quality standards and regulations.
- Ability to interpret data, analyze root causes of problems, and propose solutions.
- Strong English communication skills – written and verbal.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and consistency
