INFS 675: Secure Application Development and Testing
Course description:
This course is designed to meet the rising need for skilled professionals capable of designing and developing software applications against cyber threats. This course delves into the realms of secure coding practices, proper handling of authentication and authorization, and resilient software architecture design. Through hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, security testing techniques for continuous integration, and secure deployment strategies, this program empowers software developers and cybersecurity practitioners to proactively identify, address, and mitigate potential vulnerabilities, improving the resilience and integrity of applications in the face of evolving cyber risks.
Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Successful candidates should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related area.
A Master’s degree or a Doctoral degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related area. (A PhD student conducting research in cybersecurity will also be considered.)
At least 2 years industrial experience in cybersecurity and hands-on machine learning-based cyber defence operations, including threat hunting and cyber attack analysis.
At least 2 years experience in developing cyber operations training lab activities.
At least 5 years teaching experience in control system security and system exploitation.
At least 2 years proficient experience in using Ghidra and IDA Pro for software analysis
Previous experience in developing training programs in cybersecurity.
Excellent communication skills.
