Job Summary

Husky is currently looking for a Supervisor, Plant to join their Husky Asphalt Operations department at their Yorkton, SK location. The plant supervisor is responsible for the management of the terminal.

The main function of this position is to ensure that all products delivered are on-spec and on-time in a safe and efficient way.

Core Responsibilities

Managing plant operators and contractors
Receiving, shipping, storing, and heating asphalt, emulsion and chemicals used in manufacturing of emulsified asphalt
Producing emulsified asphalt to order
Dealing with customers, suppliers and internal Husky stakeholders including logistics, planning, engineering, HS&E.
Roles in projects will also be delegated to the plant supervisor under the direction of management.
Supervise and direct plant operators and contractors, making sure that all work is performed in an efficient and safe manner. Ensure that all contractors on site, such as truck drivers and trades people work in a safe and orderly manner.
Customer support relative to shipments of retail asphalt and emulsions. This includes emulsion manufacturing and timely delivery of products. Effective communication with customers and other internal stakeholders is required.
Ensure proper inventories of all raw materials, intermediate and finished products required to meet customer demands.
Ensure quality control tests and procedures are followed.
Follow all operational, safety policies and procedures. Ensure that all environmental, occupational health and safety regulations are met.
Ensure staff is aware of HOIMS initiatives and rules. Adhere to and enforce HOIMS rules at facility. Ensure training matrix and safety scorecard compliance.
Maintenance of all plant equipment including: colloid mills, pumps, mixers, heaters, boilers, meters, scales, tanks.
Manage inventory and shipping documentation.


5-15 years of experience working in an industrial maintenance or operations position in a leadership role.
Basic computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Asphalt experience is considered an asset.
Good interpersonal skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Dedicated commitment to Health, Safety, and the Environment.
Excellent organizational and decision-making skills.

Education & Professional Designations

Minimum 4th class Power Engineering Certification required
Post-secondary education/training would be an asset.

Working Conditions

Work involves frequent standing and walking. Process areas have some shelter, but are subject to extreme temperatures.
Work also involves frequent sitting for computer work
Travel away from site is limited to training and corporate meetings.
