We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Testing and Balancing Technician for one of our clients in Vancouver, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems by conducting thorough testing and balancing procedures. The Testing and Balancing Technician will work closely with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to guarantee that HVAC systems meet design specifications and deliver efficient and comfortable environments.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive System testing of HVAC systems to verify that they meet design and performance specifications.
· Utilize specialized testing equipment to measure air and water flow, temperature differentials, and pressure levels.
· Perform air and hydronic balancing to ensure that HVAC systems distribute air and water evenly throughout the designated spaces
· Adjust dampers, valves, and other components to achieve proper airflow and water flow rates.
· Maintain accurate and detailed records of testing and balancing activities, including measurement data, adjustments made, and any issues encountered.
· Generate reports summarizing the results of testing and balancing procedures.
· Work closely with HVAC design engineers, project managers, and construction teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
· Collaborate with other technicians and trades to coordinate testing and balancing activities within the project timeline.
· Identify and troubleshoot issues related to airflow, water flow, and system performance.
· Recommend and implement corrective actions to address any deficiencies in the HVAC systems.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in Commissioning, Testing, Adjusting & Balancing of Air and Hydronic Systems.
· Certification in either Testing and Balancing (such as NEBB or AABC), Mechanical Technologist or other relevant experience and education.
· Previous experience in HVAC testing and balancing is highly desirable.
· Proficient in using testing equipment and instruments related to HVAC systems.
· Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines for testing and balancing.
· Ability to meticulously follow testing procedures and accurately record data
· Strong problem-solving skills to address issues encountered during the testing and balancing process.
· Ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing project requirements
· Willingness to stay current with industry advancements and new testing and balancing techniques.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
