Payroll Specialist
Job Summary:
The Payroll Specialist positions primary responsibility will be to ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee compensation across the organization. The Payroll Specialist will always be professional and presentable with the understanding they are a representative of ATTA Elevators and have a responsibility to uphold and maintain that image to the best of their abilities. This position reports directly to the Payroll Manager.
Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
Payroll Processing
- Prepare, process, and review weekly payroll for all Canadian & US entities.
- Validate employee time, attendance, commissions, bonuses, and other compensation adjustments.
- Ensure accurate calculation and processing of union dues, benefit deductions, and employer contributions.
Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment standards.
- Prepare and remit government filings, including WSIB, EHT, and other statutory payments.
- Reconcile and remit union dues and benefit contributions for all locals.
- Support year-end activities, including the preparation and distribution of T4s, RL-1s, and other required tax documents.
Systems & Data Management
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the payroll system.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance to reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports and analytics for management as needed.
Employee Support
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, benefits, and related matters in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide guidance on payroll policies and assist with issue resolution.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Payroll
- Completed education in Business or Finance related courses preferred
- ADP Software experience required
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Excellent organization and time management skills, critical thinking, and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Pay: $62,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
