The School of Computing is looking for an individual who is energetic, a self-starter, and is eager to help for the School Assistant position. The new School Assistant will:
Provide front-line support and assistance through telephone, email, and personal inquiries
Provide program and administrative support to department heads, faculty, advisors, and the Dean’s Office
Provide support in processing department information files, records and reports
Provide support in processing of faculty, sessional, and lab monitor contracts and timesheets
Organize department and other meetings
Prepare agendas, minutes, and all meeting materials
Assist in preparing, revising, and maintaining departmental documents
Maintain department website
Assist with the organization of department events
Completion of a recognized certificate in office administration from a recognized post-secondary institution
Minimum three (3) years experience preferably in a post-secondary education environment
Well-developed interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Able to remain calm under pressure
Highly resourceful and organized
Able to problem solve and self-initiate
Able to maintain confidentiality
Able to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred knowledge and experience working with Banner
Preferred experience in editing and maintaining websites
Knowledge of UFV an asset
