The Program Lead, Faculty Engagement, will work directly with a portfolio of faculties and with the associated faculty-based chapters to advance alumni engagement strategies. In this role, the Program Lead will be responsible for facilitating regular communication, developing partner plans (including events, mentoring, recognition, and volunteerism), facilitating planning meetings, and reporting on progress for activities. Utilizing effective volunteer management skills, the Program Lead will work closely with faculty-based volunteer groups to develop tailored programming. As part of this role, the Program Lead will work with alumni, donors and volunteers, cultivating relationships in an effort to encourage advocacy, enhanced volunteerism and giving to the University of Alberta.
Works with assigned faculties to develop alumni relations strategies, ensuring each becomes an actionable initiative that delivers measured outcomes for faculty engagement.
Designs work plans, roles and responsibilities, and events and outcomes, with an emphasis on fostering a spirit of collaboration and cooperation
Creates alignment between faculty-based alumni engagement programs and those programs managed by the Office of Alumni Relations to engage all alumni.
Forms and leads faculty-based and special interest chapter organizations when applicable, building volunteer advisory groups to help grow bonds among the alumni of each respective faculty or group
Manages volunteers that comprise executive boards within alumni chapters, overseeing engagement activity, finances, scholarship fundraising, volunteer training and governance
Manages a budget for alumni relations in each faculty which they are accountable for according to the strategies developed
Utilizes data, project management, and effective communication to guide planning practices and manage deliverables
Minimum of a University degree (e.g. business, social sciences, or humanities), ideally from the University of Alberta; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
5 years of experience working in alumni relations, volunteer management, fundraising, stake-holder engagement, or community engagement
Well-developed communication, data reporting, collaboration and analytical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively with volunteers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
Ability to meet deadlines and skillfully manage multiple priorities
Ability to adapt and work effectively within an academic culture
Experience providing strategic advice to administrators, volunteer boards and senior administration teams with a proven record of achieving consensus among stakeholders
Proven experience in strategic planning
High degree of self-motivation and initiative
Proven ability to interact effectively with varied audiences
Experience working with Advance, Tableau and Zoom webinar platforms is considered an asset
