Office Administrator-Retail Operations

Salary: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Job Summary
Canadian Tire is seeking a highly organized and motivated Office Administrator to join our team. This role supports the daily administrative operations of the store and office, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and excellent communication across departments. The successful candidate will assist with financial administration, inventory management, employee onboarding, social media content management, and various office functions as directed by the Office Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Administrative Support
- Perform daily cash balancing and reconciliation of tills and store deposits.
- Assist with accounts payable, invoice processing, and filing.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets as required.
- Support payroll administration and employee record management.
Inventory Management
- Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in partnership with department managers.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and reporting.
- Assist with inventory control procedures and loss prevention initiatives.
- Support annual physical inventory preparations and execution.
- Monitor inventory trends and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Employee Onboarding & Human Resources Support
- Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation processes.
- Prepare onboarding packages and maintain employee files.
- Assist with scheduling training and ensuring completion of required documentation.
- Support recruitment activities when needed.
Social Media & Marketing Support
- Create and schedule engaging social media content for store promotions, events, and community initiatives.
- Monitor social media channels and respond to inquiries as directed.
- Assist with basic marketing and promotional activities.
- Capture photos and content highlighting store events, promotions, and community involvement.
General Office Support
- Answer phones and direct inquiries professionally.
- Coordinate office supplies and maintain office organization.
- Assist the Office Manager with special projects and administrative tasks.
- Support various departments as needed to ensure smooth store operations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in office administration, bookkeeping, retail administration, inventory control, or a related field.
- Experience with cash balancing, inventory management, and financial reconciliation preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok is an asset.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
