JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Generalist (Garrison Crossing) will be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance. The Facilities Generalist is also responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment in accordance with safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. The role will also be responsible for keeping buildings in clean and orderly condition, and will occasionally perform heavy cleaning duties, suite turnover assistant, cleaning building storage and garbage rooms, pressure washing parkade and assist with winter snow removal including salting A personal commitment to Elim’s Philosophy of Care is required.
QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED. A building trades certificate, or equivalent, is considered an asset

Minimum 3 years of experience in the operations and maintenance of buildings

Ability to perform small repairs (e.g. drywall, caulking, light fixtures, replacing appliances, and indoor/outdoor painting)

Must have considerable working knowledge, skill, manual dexterity, and mechanical knowledge in the use of power tools and repair equipment
-
Ability to use power hand tools (e.g. power washer, skill saw, drills, etc.)

Ability to drive utility vehicles (e.g. golf carts, utility tractor, Bobcat and/or quad for snow removal, skid steer)
-
Basic working knowledge of MS Office software, (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, & OneDrive)

Knowledge of The Worx Hub work order request program, or equivalent, would be an asset

Knowledge of cablevision and internet systems an asset
-
Basic knowledge of electrical repairs would be considered an asset

Experience with irrigation systems an asset

Possession of Class 4 driver’s license is an asset

Must have own transportation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs by completing maintenance requests and preparing units for occupancy
-
Eliminate or minimize the effects of health and safety incidents/issues within Elim Village and ensure all areas inside and surrounding the village are safe. Taking immediate corrective action when necessary. This includes all seasonal issues such as extreme heat, rain, snow, ice, etc.

Troubleshoot, repair, install, and/or maintain various electrical components, appliances and equipment in accordance with pertinent codes, preventative maintenance programs and departmental procedures

Perform repairs and maintenance of machines and equipment within the Village, along with associated documentation
-
Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work
-
Conduct on-going maintenance and preventative maintenance of facilities, machinery and equipment as instructed by the Facilities Supervisor
-
Adhere to departmental procedures and systems (e.g. "systems for preventative maintenance", "maintenance requisitions", scheduled work and continued quality improvement/risk management programs)

Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
-
Operate grounds-keeping power equipment and maintain external property
-
Ensure delivery/shipping areas are tidy and safe at all times, advising departments of shipments to be processed and stored

Co-ordinate and manage garbage removal and recycling products
-
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
-
Involved in all aspects of building maintenance requirements for all new construction, renovations or updates to current systems

Coordinate and monitor contractor activities for projects

Perform all other duties as assigned or needed

This is a Regular Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week

Ability to join 24/7 on call rotation

Willingness to work Saturdays and Sundays if needed in an emergency

Wage Rate: $28.56 - $32.31 per hour
