Qikiqtani Industry Ltd (QIL) is seeking an experienced and motivated Site Services Coordinator to lead catering and janitorial operations in Pond Inlet (Mittimatalik), Nunavut. This is a senior, multi-disciplinary role combining hands-on culinary leadership with supervisory responsibility for site services, including catering, janitorial and security staff. Accommodation and meals are provided while at work.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high quality services for our operations in Pond Inlet while maintaining kitchen and facility hygiene standards, and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and culturally respectful environment at the client site.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This includes but is not limited to the following:
- Plan, prepare and operate the catering, janitorial and security service operations at the client locations in Pond Inlet
- Directly supervise over 8-10 employees in Catering, Janitorial and security services assigned as per the client’s requirements
- Develop weekly menus that are nutritious, culturally appropriate, and sensitive to dietary restrictions and allergies for the center.
- Plan, prepare and serve three daily meals to the training center participants (approximately 20-30 participants daily)
- Manage all food and janitorial supplies procurement, inventory, storage and rotation in compliance with food safety standards
- Maintain kitchen equipment, ensure cleanliness and conduct daily and periodic sanitation checks
- Ensure all staff follow schedules with meals, cleaning, use PPE appropriately, and meet expectations set by the client.
- Maintain food costs and minimize waste through efficient planning and portion control
- Assign all daily tasks to respective departments, conduct regular staff check-ins, and performance reviews in accordance with the policies.
- Provide onboarding and training of new staff coming in.
- Document and report on any performance, safety, conduct issues to QIL Project Manager in Iqaluit.
- Maintain daily service logs, incident reports, and inventory records and ensure compliance with regulations
- Participate and lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.
- Liaise with the client to coordinate service delivery expectations at their locations and sites.
Requirements
- Red Seal certification for Cook or an equivalent culinary certification from accredited institutions
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
- Experience with inventory management (food and janitorial supplies) and logistics in remote communities
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple service streams simultaneously
- Valid Food Safety Certification
- Experience working in Nunavut or other northern communities
- Familiarity with Inuit cultural values and IQ principles
- First Aid/CPR Certification
Working Conditions
- The successful candidate must be prepared to work in a remote northern environment, including adaptation to seasonal climate variations. Accommodation and meals are provided while at work.

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
