Job description
Diamond Optical Vision Care Centre is looking for a Full-time Optometric Assistant who possess excellent customer service, team oriented, motivated and dependable team member. We are very dedicated in providing the best eye care and offering great experience to all our clients. We are a small practice where working together as a team is very important to us.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Reception duties such as greeting and checking in patients, booking/scheduling appointments, preparing patient files, answering the phone, Alberta Health Care billing, processing private insurance claims, taking payments, sending emails, faxing, and filing.
- Direct patient flow during busy clinic hours
- Pre-testing patients (Retinal screenings, Auto-refraction, Tonometry)
- Ordering contact lenses and managing deliveries
- Managing incoming and outgoing referrals
- Provide contact lens trainings and lens care education to patients
- Dispensing of contact lenses
- Preparing and sanitizing the exam room after each patient
- Occasionally assisting patients in frame selection
- Knowledge in adjusting and repairing eyeglasses is an asset
- Doing recalls and reminder calls
- Other duties as assigned
