About the Role:
Fitzrovia is actively seeking a Lead Cook to join our culinary team. As the Lead Cook, you will hold a pivotal role in our kitchen operations, overseeing the culinary experience at our in-house Café Bar, No. 10 Dean, at the Elm (www.elmlife.com) and Ledbury (www.ledburylife.com). No. 10 Dean, serves a diverse array of offerings, including coffee, wine, beer, cocktails, and snacks, all crafted with a focus on the highest quality ingredients and execution to meet the exacting standards of our residents and guests.
Reporting directly to the Cafe Manager, you will lead a team of Cooks, ensuring the efficient execution of daily food operations. Your responsibilities will encompass menu development, cost monitoring, inventory management, team leadership, and upholding food safety compliance.
As we are a highly collaborative team, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site full-time.
This posting is for an existing vacancy. The hourly rate for this position is $21.50.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional hospitality, actively seeking opportunities to exceed guest expectations
- Drive menu development by creating and rotating seasonal features, grab & go items, snacks, light bites, and brunch offerings
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of cooks alongside the Café & Bar Managers, fostering their growth and maintaining high culinary standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including prep, service execution, and food presentation
- Manage inventory, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Track recipe costs and monitor waste, implementing measures to maintain budgetary control
- Collaborate with the event and site team to develop catering and event offerings
- Ensure the kitchen and café spaces are clean, organized, and ready for service
- Support front-of-house as needed, assisting guests with food and beverage orders
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior cook role
- Genuine passion for food, cooking, and hospitality
- Experience with and a strong desire to lead, motivate, and develop a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated and resourceful, comfortable taking ownership of kitchen operations
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Food Handlers' Certificate and Smart Serve Certification required
- Bachelor's degree, Diploma or Certificate in hospitality management is an asset
- Knowledge of cocktails, beer and wine is an asset
- Strong teamwork, decision-making & problem-solving and attention to detail.
