Financial Reporting Analyst

The Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis on a monthly basis. This will include preparation of monthly consolidated financial statement, various financial and account analysis. This role will also provide analytical support within the Finance team during the budget and planning processes. This individual must serve as a contributing member of the Finance team while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values.


Individual Responsibilities:

Functional Responsibilities:
Primary contact for the consolidation of Stryker Canada financial results monthly, quarterly, and annually
Preparation and analysis of monthly management reporting for financial results in assigned functional areas including Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and Cash Flow reporting
Establish/implement process improvement projects for the journals, reconciliation and reporting
Prepare journal entries, analyze and reconcile account
Analyze revenue recognition criteria for various revenue streams in accordance with ASC 606
Responsible for ad-hoc analysis and information requests from business unit leaders
Participates in annual Sarbanes Oxley testing of internal controls
Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual tax filings
Work closely with Shared Services organization to ensure month end close timelines adhered too and reporting of transactions is accurate and timely
Assist with various inventory reporting
Assisting with various risk management compliance matters such as insurance
Other duties as assigned by Controller

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

Strong Microsoft Excel skills (designing, building and maintaining files)
Solid understanding of accounting principles, procedures and their applications
Capable of analyzing and resolving complex accounting issues of a broad scope using independent judgment
Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to handles multiple priorities and manage projects to timely conclusion
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable dealing with all levels of management and maintaining relationships with divisional personnel
Posses the ability to think ‘outside the box’ in relation to process improvement and data integrity
Education & Qualifications

Degree in Business with a concentration in accounting/finance is required
Working towards the completion of professional accounting designation CPA preferred
1-2 years of finance/accounting experience preferred
Knowledge of Oracle ERP and Hyperion Financials would be an asset
Internal applicants with an equivalent combination of education, experience and performance over time at Stryker will be considered
