Join our dynamic team as a Financial Officer at the Ministry of Health, where your expertise extends beyond numbers. As a key player, you'll collaborate with branch financial teams, providing essential support in financial planning, budgeting, analysis, monitoring, and control. Your insights will guide policy interpretations, and your knack for resolving complex issues will be invaluable.
You will:
- provide financial analysis and systems monitoring/administration to support branch teams
- support financial policy development, financial controllership, consolidation and reporting activities
- draft and produce financial summaries and reports
- assist in examining, monitoring, controlling, analyzing, reconciling, forecasting and reporting irregularities and concerns
- assist in payments to transfer payment recipients and data processing
- reconcile payments to transfer payment recipients for the assigned ministry transfer payment line and processing resultant payments or recoveries as applicable
- participate in unit/branch project teams
- provide information and standard interpretations of financial control and reporting policies, procedures and practices, identifying opportunities for improvements
- you have demonstrated experience in financial planning, analysis, budgeting, monitoring, payment entry, and controllership related functions
- you can generate and validate financial and statistical reports
- you have proven analytical skills to examine and interpret financial records, prepare a range of cost projections and review operating statements for health service providers
- you can assess funding documents and identify discrepancies
- you have planning and organizational skills to set work priorities and meet deadline demands in a high volume environment
- you have demonstrated knowledge of accounting policies, processes and practices
- you can prepare budget forecasts and identify expenditure trends
- you demonstrate knowledge of and proficiency in using Microsoft Office software applications to prepare reports and other materials
- you can utilize financial systems to gather data/information and to conduct financial analysis and reconciliations
- you can maintain databases and process a variety of financial forms, reports and routine correspondence
- you have demonstrated written, oral communication and interpersonal skills to respond to inquiries regarding payment, policies and processes
- you have demonstrated negotiation skills to discuss financial and payment related issues
- you have interpersonal skills to liaise with staff in partner branches to gather information
