Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. This role is essential in supporting food preparation, ensuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong commitment to quality and hygiene standards. Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients for meals.
- Support cooking activities under the supervision of head chefs or kitchen managers.
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper food safety and hygiene practices are followed at all times.
- Serve meals to customers efficiently and courteously in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to meet health standards.
- Organize and store ingredients properly to ensure freshness and prevent cross-contamination.
- Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of supplies needed.
- Support meal presentation to ensure dishes meet quality standards before serving.
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety regulations.
- Ability to perform meal preparation tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques and food industry standards.
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly attitude toward customers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting or moving supplies.
