Overview
The Enterprise Architect sets the direction and establishes the approach of an organization's operations, improves the IT infrastructure, and optimizes their business operations.
The Enterprise Architect is accountable for the development of the end-to-end technical solution for the most complex/ large/strategic opportunities for Bell Business Markets. These solutions can include any of our main six practices (Network, Voice/UC, Security, Data Centre, Contact Centre and IoT). This involves compiling and understanding the overall customer requirements, aligning with the deal strategy, leading the overall solution team and interfacing with various internal and external parties for the development of the end-to-end solution (technology, operation, and delivery).
Reporting to the Senior Manager Architecture, the Enterprise Architect will work with the client executive to create and maintain executive-level relationships with their respective customers. The goal of this individual will be to become the trusted advisor for the customers they support.
Within Bell this individual will be recognized as an expert within the organization and be able to anticipate internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues. They will recommend process, product or service improvements. They are expected to solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business and contributes to the practice strategies.
Job Duties / Accountabilities:
Creating business architectures to reflect the Customer’s strategies and goals, creating, and implementing business goals and vision - (Network/Voice/DC/Security/Call Centre).
Determining and implementing build versus buy strategies and views of the overall business strategy.
Demonstrates Thought Leadership, promotes Industry Best Practices, and have the skills to mentor personnel.
Review and ownership of technology white space opportunities within client base.
Develop and Lead RFP responses to support technical strategy.
Develop customization proposals and drive changes within the Bell organization to refine existing services to support customer requirements
Build and lead the technical team across Product, Sales, Delivery, Operations, and 3rd party vendors (and other subject-matter experts as needed) to design innovative "one-of-a-kind" solutions to meet customer requirements while optimizing cost.
Understand the high-level internal Bell impacts of each solution alternative - determine early in the sales cycle which alternatives are high-risk / high-cost (and why).
Act as the customer champion and "honest broker" across all internal Bell LOBs. Sell the solution internally across the entire panel of Bell SMEs (up to the Director/VP level, as required) to get alignment on the technical solution .
Present the solution to customer (including the Director/VP/C-level executive) and sell the customer-facing technical and operational merits. Includes writing RFI/RFP responses and customer-facing whitepapers.
After contract signature, lead the hand-off to delivery at implementation. Present the solution to the delivery / PS implementation teams.
Required Qualifications:
Must possess an engineering degree in Computer communications or equivalent work experience and a multi-disciplinary set of skills.
8+ years experience in a significant architecture role or a consulting background in IT strategy for large scale enterprises and in the context of large scale systems
Good knowledge of the following six domains (Network, Voice/UC, Security, Data Centre, Contact Centre and IoT) with deep expertise in at least 2 of these disciplines
Excellent knowledge of IP networking and Internet technologies: TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, Radius, SIP, Ethernet technologies, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS protocols, Data Centres, Server technologies and Storage Virtualization e.g. VMWare, EMC etc.
Ideally hold one or more industry certifications within the solution or vendor’s certifications (CCNP, CCIE, CCDE , professional or expert lever certification from other vendors)
Past experience working in a direct deal response role or customer-facing role with related pre-sales responsibilities

Leadership and collaborative skills to work with all levels of the organization and within the bid response team
The ability to "think outside the box" and search for innovative ways of resolving issues and delivering solutions yet leveraging existing standard offers whenever possible. Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving and decision making
Exceptional technical vision, knowledge and judgment in his area of expertise
Solid vendor relationship management experience in order to maintain state-of-the-art knowledge in emerging technologies and to involve as required 3rd party vendors in the development of the solution. Expertise in evaluating, selecting, and integrating best-of-breed/innovative technologies
Good knowledge of Bell, its organization and the processes invoked in the development of a solution. Good knowledge of Bell’s products and services
Ability to synthesize, organize and prioritize large amounts of information; ability to translate a customer’s business and technology needs into a solid, compliant solution
Risk management and technical project review experience
Business financial skills suitable for determining costs of multi-million dollar proposals
Excellent verbal communication skills to present complex information to a variety of audiences. Excellent writing skills to present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. (English and French)
Negotiation and problem solving skills to work with multiple stakeholders and resolve conflicting priorities, and ensure successful delivery of the solutions
