Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Project Controls Coordinator to support the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of capital projects. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive project controls services, including cost management, scheduling, forecasting, reporting, risk identification, and performance monitoring throughout the entire project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Finance teams, and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within approved scope, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full Project Controls Management, including cost and schedule development, monitoring, forecasting, and control throughout all project phases.

Develop and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, expenditure profiles, workforce histograms, and capital cost estimates.

Generate regular and ad hoc reports, dashboards, graphical analyses, summary tables, and executive presentations to support project decision-making.

Support Project Engineers and Project Managers in scope management, including scope definition, verification, change management, and overall project financial performance monitoring.

Analyze project costs by collaborating with field teams to understand direct costs and with stakeholders to assess indirect costs, ensuring alignment with budgets and forecasts.

Monitor project expenditures and performance against approved budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.

Prepare monthly project and program-level forecasting reports and financial performance summaries.

Provide estimating and cost management support to internal departments to strengthen organizational cost controls and financial accountability.

Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), identifying trends and opportunities to improve project execution and operational efficiency.

Develop and maintain project controls templates, tools, policies, procedures, and best practices to support the implementation of stage-gate and project governance processes.

Conduct variance analysis and prepare detailed project status reports for senior leadership and project stakeholders.

Identify potential obstacles, challenges, and project risks, proactively developing mitigation strategies and recommending innovative solutions.

Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing project performance, reporting accuracy, and process efficiency.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
University degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Minimum 3 years of experience in Project Controls, Project Management, Cost Control, or a related field.

General understanding of pipeline operations and capital project execution.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:

VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP

Pivot Tables
-
SUMIFS and advanced formulas

Data visualization and graph generation

Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and communicate insights in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.

Working knowledge of Power BI and Power Pivot for reporting and data analytics.

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle and/or SAP.

Strong hands-on experience with EcoSys project controls software.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and planning skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Proven ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Valid driver's license.
