Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Resort Operations & Hospitality Intern to join our team for the summer season under the Canada Summer Jobs / Grant-Funded program. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry, working closely with our guest services and front desk teams. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing exceptional customer service, eager to learn about hotel operations, and capable of supporting various aspects of resort management. Bilingual or multilingual skills are highly valued to enhance guest interactions and service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning cabins on high volume days
- Inspecting boats and cabins after they've been cleaned
- Keeping track of the cleaning supplies inventory
- Assist with front desk operations, including check-in and check-out procedures, guest inquiries, and reservations
- Support guest services by addressing guest needs and ensuring a positive experience throughout their stay
- Provide information about resort amenities, local attractions, and services to guests
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a welcoming and professional environment
- Contribute to maintaining cleanliness and organization in common areas and front desk spaces
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and reporting as needed
Requirements
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Previous hotel or hospitality experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to assist diverse guests effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Availability for the duration of the summer internship period; flexibility in scheduling is preferred
