The Opportunity

As a Social Media Specialist for Canopy Growth brands, you will be responsible for content planning and cross-functional collaboration to bring some of Canopy Growth’s brands to life in social. This role reports to the Manager, Content Strategy and is part of the Digital team. You’ll be the champion of constantly making our social communities more impactful in achieving our KPIs. You’re passionate about data-driven marketing and are eager to work with the tools and team to optimize our social channels.


  • In collaboration with the Digital and Brand teams, develop the social media and content calendars that align with overall marketing and communications strategy to drive significant growth, awareness and engagement.
  • Work with cross-functional internal teams to create social media campaigns to meet objectives including user and supporter engagement, brand positioning, lead generation and revenue/sales.
  • Use in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat, etc.) and how users engage in each channel and with our content to deliver best-in-class engagement and conversion.
  • Grow qualified followers on all social channels.
  • Prepare monthly social media reports as well as additional customized reports and recommendations as required.
  • Engage with the social community to create meaningful and lasting relationships. Identify market influencers and build a brand relationship with them online. Liaise with Customer Care to ensure customer inquiries are followed up with appropriately.
  • Set key performance indicators, monitor effective benchmarks for measurement of social media efforts. Analyze, review and report on the effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results and make recommendations for future campaigns.
  • Monitor trending topics for each market to discover shareable content and/or engage in conversations.
  • Increase website visits and e-com conversion from social sources

  • 2 years experience managing social media channels for multiple brands.
  • Expertise in social media marketing and content strategy as well as thorough understanding of social network algorithms, especially Facebook
  • Well-versed in the latest content marketing, channel engagement, and distribution strategies, including a knowledge of paid for social
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, with a superior ability to present and sell your ideas to leadership and other internal stakeholder
  • Experience in regulated products or CPG

This is a full-time position based out of Kanata or Toronto ON.
