We are a music school in Port Coquitlam looking for a piano teacher to add to our team, particularly a teacher who can even teach ARCT to students.
You'll be hired as a contractor for long term basis based on an hourly pay rate between $44-60 depending on your qualifications, work experience, and the level of RCM students.
Must have:
- University/college level education in music, majoring in piano
- Excellent knowledge of RCM - to teach and prep students for exams all the way up to and including ARCT.
- Must have at least 5+ years of teaching experience in an educational setting, including experience with teaching children.
- Patient and empathetic towards students
- Ability to commute to Port Coquitlam easily for the given shifts and be punctual
- Ability to be tech savvy to manage given teaching schedule on its website/app (training provided)
- Can tailor teaching method according to student's goals/needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students/parents
- Positive attitude toward students and staff
- Passionate about teaching music and also preparing students for our annual recitals
- Organizational skills, team player qualities, cooperative skills with managers and staff
This job is meant for individuals who like to grow with a company and to stay long term to teach as our customers don't like to change teachers often. Those with a stable plan to live in this city and with a permanent residency are preferred over those with a work permit.
Speaking more than one language is a valuable asset, particularly Mandarin or Korean.
Must be available to commit to at least 3-8:30pm in order to work on a weekday at our school. Weekends are flexible.
