Job Description
Marchline Snow is looking for dependable Snow Tractor Operators to join our winter operations team for the upcoming 2026/27 snow season.
We provide residential snow removal throughout Carp, West Carleton, Dunrobin & Dunrobin Shores, and Kanata North.
This is a seasonal, on-call position requiring flexibility and availability during snow events, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
We are looking for both primary route operators and backup operators.
Successful candidates will be hired by October 1, 2026, for training beginning in advance of the winter season.
Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively operate snow removal tractors and attachments.
- Complete assigned residential snow routes in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform pre-operation equipment and safety checks.
- Clear driveways carefully while avoiding damage to lawns, curbs, mailboxes, vehicles and other property.
- Work accurately around driveway markers/pickets.
- Properly handle different driveway surfaces, including gravel.
- Use appropriate snow-clearing techniques, including blowing, dragging and proper snow placement.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding route progress, customer concerns, equipment problems or delays.
- Report any damage, maintenance or repair requirements promptly.
- Follow company safety procedures and snow-event operating standards.
- Participate in operator training prior to the winter season.
- Other snow-operation duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous snow removal experience is preferred.
- Experience operating a tractor with a snow blower or similar equipment is an asset.
- Valid Ontario G-class driver's licence or higher.
- Reliable transportation to and from our location at 1148 March Rd., Kanata, ON. Public transportation is not available.
- Ability to work independently and follow an assigned route.
- Strong attention to detail and respect for customers' property.
- Physically able to safely climb in and out of equipment and work in winter conditions.
- Dependable and able to respond when required during snow events.
- Must be available on call, including overnight, weekends and holidays.
Experience clearing residential driveways and knowledge of proper snow placement, driveway markers, gravel surfaces and avoiding windrows/property damage are considered strong assets.
Schedule
Seasonal, on-call winter position.
Hours vary depending on snowfall and weather conditions. Operators must be prepared to work during snow events that may occur during the day, overnight, on weekends and on holidays.
Training will begin after hiring, with operators expected to be in place by October 1, 2026.
Compensation
$35.00 per hour, plus $200 per week in standby pay.
Standby pay is provided in recognition of the requirement to remain available and ready to respond during the winter snow season.
