As a Security Coordinator working in the Security team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a crucial role in supporting the security clearance program of both our internal and external personnel and subtrades. Supporting our work on large-scale building and infrastructure projects – ranging from $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion – you will play a pivotal role in managing the security compliance of people both on and off site.
What you will do:
- Ensure compliance to the Public Service and Procurement Canada (PSPC) Contract Security Program (CSP)
- Process personnel security clearances, administer security briefings, and maintain a registry of security-screened employees
- Support the guidance of both our internal employees and subcontractors throughout the security screening process on a one-on-one basis
- Act as liaison between Pomerleau and the CSP and various other security agencies
- Manage the handling, safeguarding, and access measures of information and assets in accordance with the CSP
- Support with the Federal Government inspections as required
- Work closely with our project teams to ensure all security contract requirements are met and maintained at all times
- Support the initiations of sponsorship of Pomerleau’s subtrades into the CSP and support them through the registration and personnel clearance process as needed
- Ensure the proper completion and submission of security documents to the government relating to personnel clearances, and subcontractor sponsorship
This role could be for you if you have:
- The successful candidate will be required to obtain federal personal security clearance to the Level of Secret (10 years of continuous Canada residency, clear criminal record)
- A minimum of 2 years of administrative experience, preferably within the construction industry
- Fluently bilingual, both written and verbal, in both official languages is considered an asset
- A strong ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times with a love for processes and ensuring compliance
- You are highly resourceful and consistently showcase exceptional analytical skills
- Customer service oriented, you thrive on your ability to support both your internal team members and those outside the organization
- You are a multi-tasking expert and have the ability to maintain organization while juggling multiple priorities
- Eligibility to be appointed and briefed as an Alternate Company Security Officer, and completion of the essential training offered by PSPC's Contract Security Program.
