Bigstone Ltd, an entity within Bigstone Group of Companies in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Yard Man to join our talented team. This position requires a highly motivated, and dependable individual to assist with our gravel pit operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintenance and fueling of equipment when required.
- Report any equipment deficiencies or unsafe situations to supervisor.
- Shovel out areas too small for loaders to clean up efficiently.
- Check all fluids daily on all crusher equipment.
- General site housekeeping.
- Maintain communications with entire crew to ensure safe operation of crush plant.
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Decision making skills and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to manage time, multitask and prioritize
- Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other employees
Required Personal Protective Equipment
- Must have CSA Approved Steel Toe Boots, Hi-visibility vest, safety glasses, hearing protection, side impact hard hat and leather working gloves.
Education and Experience
- No experience required, training will be provided
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR
- WHMIS & TDG Certification
Salary is dependent on qualifications.
