Raise is currently hiring an Auditor on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is one of North America's leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Auditor/ Senior Accountant will bring a proven track record of supporting the preparation of flawless financial information. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accuracy across our corporate reporting structures. As a key member of the Corporate Accounting team, you will gain broad, high-visibility knowledge of our clients corporate financial functions. In this role, you will hold primary responsibility for the accounting, analysis, and reporting of interest income and foreign exchange (FX).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly variance report for interest income and other

Record quarterly accounting entries related to restricted investments

Quarterly and annual accounting for insurance captive and insurance programs

Prepare MD&A and Financial Statement note disclosure for interest income and foreign exchange

Intercompany/Inter-affiliate settlements

Liaise with Finance, Corporate accounting team members and IS for SAP testing related to intercompany and external loan set up and treasury derivatives

Supporting ad hoc analysis, reporting requests and special analysis
Qualifications
-
Six (6) years of progressive, related corporate accounting or financial reporting experience.

Preferred Qualifications
-
Knowledge of consolidation accounting, financial statement presentation and US generally accepted accounting principles

Strong working knowledge of SAP (ECC and BPC)

Experience working with multiple functional currencies

Superior analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a keen attention to detail

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective written and verbal communication to all levels of the organization

Proven team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships

Education and Certifications
-
Undergraduate degree in commerce/business or related discipline

Recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CGA, or CMA is mandatory).
