SPower Manufacturing is a custom metal fabricator, we require a Welder with 5+ years experience who is proficient in MIG, SSFCAW welding to join our team.
The responsibilities of the Welder / Fitter include fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To use TIG / MIG welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies.
- Build welded assemblies for new products and changes to existing products as per engineering documents and established production standards.
- Operating other necessary equipment and performing tasks necessary to complete parts to specifications.
- Preparing and setup of necessary tools and equipment for welding jobs.
- Arranging of parts for welding and staging processes.
- Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
- Review finished assemblies & parts to ensure accuracy against drawings.
- Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required.
- Perform other duties as requested by the department manager.
- Log hours worked on each project.
Qualifications:
- Welder Certificate from acceptable reputed welding Association or Work experience for at least 5 years.
- Ontario Health and Safety Act and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information system) Certificates, FOD (Foreign Object Debris) Training
- Familiar with a variety of welder concepts, practices, and procedures under CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) or any international standards.
- Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts.
- Must be thoroughly familiar with welding equipment such as grinders, plate clamps, over head crane, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders.
- Demonstrate willingness to work with others in a team environment.
- Fork lifts Training Certificate an Asset
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a metal fabrication environment. Standing for long periods of time is required. Must be physically fit, work involves lifting.
