Looking for flexible, rewarding work that fits around your life?
Resolve Counselling Services Canada is hiring casual Community & In-Home Support Workers to support adults (18+) living with a developmental disability as they take part in their community and daily lives.
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wants to supplement their income while doing work that genuinely matters — students, retirees, people between roles, or anyone looking to add purpose-driven hours to their week.
You choose the hours that work for you.
What you’d be doing
No days look the same, because the support is built around what each person actually wants to do.
That might mean:
- Heading out to a community event, a game, a movie, bowling, or a day at a theme park; all at no cost to you.
- Joining in recreational or social activities
- Lending a hand at home with meal planning and cooking
- Supporting someone with life skills, tutoring, or job coaching
You’ll be a companion, and an encourager, and a steady, friendly presence — helping people connect with their community and build confidence and independence.
Why you’ll love it
- Flexible, self-directed hours — you decide when and how much you work
- A genuine income boost that fits alongside school, family, or another job
- Deeply rewarding work where you see the difference you make, in real time
- A thoughtful match — we do our best to pair support workers with clients based on shared personality and interests, so the fit feels natural for everyone
- Variety — every client and every day is different
- Join a respected organization with more than 50 years of serving our community
Who we’re looking for
You’re warm, patient, and easy to be around. Ideally, you bring a sense of humour, an open mind, and the emotional maturity to build trust. You’re reliable, organized, and you understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion. Familiarity with trauma-informed care is a real plus.
What you’ll need
- Minimum secondary school diploma
- Understanding or experience working with people with a developmental disability
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Check (CPIC)
- Ability to travel to various locations across the city or designated area of work
