Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Auto Body Prepper to join our automotive repair team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting and repair, ensuring high-quality standards, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in automotive repair and work with a professional team in a dealership setting.
Duties
- Sanding, masking, and priming vehicle surfaces to prepare for painting or further repairs
- Using hand tools and power tools to remove rust, dents, or damaged panels
- Assisting with the application of body filler and smoothing surfaces for optimal finish
- Heavy lifting of vehicle parts and components as needed for repairs and prep work
- Maintaining cleanliness of work area and ensuring all tools are properly stored after use
- Collaborating with technicians and mechanics to ensure proper vehicle preparation
- Adhering to safety protocols and quality standards throughout the prep process
Experience
- Automotive repair background preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle bodywork and repair processes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and automotive equipment
- Experience with heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks required
- Prior mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive systems is advantageous
- Knowledge of automotive painting, sanding, and surface preparation techniques is a plus
