About the Role
We are a growing multi-location healthcare organization looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on role that combines medical billing, accounts payable, bookkeeping, and financial administration.

What You'll Do
- Accurately enter OHIP and non-OHIP claims across multiple software platforms
- Review physician billing claims for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Ministry of Health submission deadlines
- Investigate and resubmit denied or rejected OHIP claims and initiate Remittance Advice Inquiries
- Review Ministry of Health documentation and stay up to date on changes to billing codes, rules, and submission requirements
- Monitor Ministry of Health responses and follow up to resolve outstanding billing issues
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries and related matters
- Review, verify, and code invoices
- Reconcile supplier statements and communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies
- Record private payments in Excel and enter deposits into QuickBooks Online
- Support day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting activities as required
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of the healthcare system, medical terminology, diagnostic codes, and OHIP billing codes
- Previous experience in medical billing is preferred
- Previous bookkeeping experience
- Good working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Experience with medical billing software and EMR systems such as Accuro is an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines
- Ability to work independently while managing recurring responsibilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing demands
- Customer service and data-entry experience is an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
