Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Aide to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing individualized support to a child, helping them participate successfully in daily routines, learning experiences, and social interactions within the classroom environment.
This is a part-time position during the school year, with afternoon shifts required. The role transitions to full-time hours during the summer months. The 1:1 Aide will work closely with educators, families, and other professionals to support the child's developmental, social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will help implement individualized strategies and accommodations, encourage independence, and contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where the child can thrive.
Duties
- Sign yourself & children in and out of TimeSavr
- Assist teachers in planning and executing daily activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development.
- Support children during classroom activities, meals, and outdoor play.
- Provide care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help facilitate inclusive activities for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment, including sanitizing toys and learning materials.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to support a positive learning atmosphere.
- Observe and document children's progress and behavior to assist in individualized learning plans.
Skills
- Prior classroom experience working with young children is preferred.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and caregiving practices.
- Ability to engage children in educational activities while maintaining patience and compassion.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families.
- Ability to adapt to various situations and provide support tailored to each child's unique needs.

Pay: $17.00-$27.62 per hour
