Our client is seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Building Inspector to support safe, compliant construction and responsible development throughout one of Manitoba’s fastest-growing municipalities. This role plays a key part in ensuring residential and small-building construction complies with the Manitoba Building Code, municipal by-laws, and applicable regulations while providing exceptional service to residents, builders, contractors, and development professionals.

What You'll Do
· Review building permit applications, plans, and drawings for code compliance.
· Conduct on-site inspections throughout all stages of construction.
· Ensure compliance with applicable building, plumbing, energy, fire, and municipal codes.
· Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare reports.
· Provide guidance to homeowners, contractors, architects, engineers, and developers.
· Issue orders, notices, and enforcement documents when required.
· Assist with updating municipal by-laws, policies, and enforcement procedures.
· Attend meetings and provide technical expertise and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
· Grade 12 education or equivalent.
· Valid Manitoba Driver's License.
· Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
· Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
· Membership in good standing with the Manitoba Building Officials Association or ability to maintain membership.
Preferred Qualifications
· Five years of building inspection, construction, code enforcement, or related experience.
· Current Manitoba Building Officials Association certification.
· Construction trades certification (Red Seal) or equivalent experience.
· Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Building Technology, or a related discipline.
· Bilingualism (French/English) is considered an asset.
