Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our wellness team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients achieve soft tissue relaxation and functional outcomes through therapeutic massage techniques. This role requires excellent communication skills, a good understanding of medical terminology, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Compensation is percentage based; favourable for the therapist. This is a part-time position for 2-3 days /week.
Duties
- Perform various types of massage therapy, including Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage, tailored to meet individual client needs.
- Assess clients' physical conditions and discuss their health history to create personalized treatment plans.
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and recommend follow-up treatments as necessary.
- Document treatment sessions accurately in client records while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their preferences and any discomfort experienced during sessions.
- Willingness to co-manage patient care with other professionals in the clinic.
Requirements
- Valid provincial license or certification in massage therapy.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to provide patient-centered care.
