We are seeking a skilled Licensed Automotive Service Technician apprentice / Red Seal Mechanic to join our reputable dealership in Halifax, NS. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in automotive repair and maintenance. Duties
- Perform comprehensive automotive repairs including engine diagnostics, brake repairs, suspension work, and electrical system troubleshooting
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and schematics to accurately diagnose and repair vehicle issues
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements
- Execute welding and assembly tasks as needed for vehicle repairs or modifications
- Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and operation of maintenance equipment
- Read and interpret technical schematics and repair manuals for precise repairs
- Assist in vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Requirements
- Valid Red Seal Certification as an Automotive Service Technician / Mechanic in Halifax, NS (apprenticeship students will be considered)
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle makes and models
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repairs or parts replacement
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
- Experience with automotive repair diagnostics, maintenance procedures, and assembly processes
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to automotive repair environments
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic workshop setting
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
