Howitt Construction is a busy excavation company, based out of Red Deer looking for a local rock truck operator/labourer for a site grading project west of Innisfail, AB at Dickson Dam. Start date is approx June 19, 2026.
Candidates should be able to perform all the skills in the Scope of Work, and work in a safe manner following all policies and procedures.
Work Details
- 7 days a week, 7am to 6pm - 11 hr shifts,
- Long weekends off (4 days),
- Provide own transportation to and from work site,
- Must have valid WHMIS ticket.
Rock Truck Scope of Work
- Minimum of 3 months experience,
- Operate machine safely,
- Dump loads where directed,
- Maintain consistent distance when pulling up to excavator,
- Complete walk arounds,
- Fuel and grease own machine.
Labour Scope of Work
- Repetitive bending to pick up small rocks, under 1 pound, and place them in skid steer bucket,
- Operating plate tamper,
- Using small sledge hammer to install silt fence,
- Operate a skid steer,
- Shoveling & raking.
PPE Requirements
- Steel toed boots,
- High visibility safety vest,
- Safety glasses,
- Gloves.
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Pay: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
