In support of the People and Culture strategic action plan, the Manager, Human Resources, will oversee all employee life-cycle programs, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with Shepherd Village policies, collective agreements and relevant legislation, as well as, manage the attendance and disability management and occupational health and safety programs; oversee Payroll and Benefit functions to ensure the accurate and timely processing of the bi-weekly pay and the administration of employee benefit programs.
Assisting the Director with policy and program development and providing advice regarding employee/labour relations issues; ensures the accurate and timely collection, retrieval and analysis of all employee information to inform organizational decision-making.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the Payroll & Benefits Supervisor and Human Resources Assistant, including hiring, coaching, training, evaluating, and generally supervising performance to ensure results are consistent with Department goals and objectives.

Consolidates and analyzes employee-related data for a variety of purposes, including but not limited to internal Q.A. and MOLTC reporting, Time and Attendance system.

Assists in the research, development, and implementation of Human Resources-related policies and procedures as required.

Facilitate the L&D function, including administering the learning management system and liaising with departments to ensure learning modules are compliant with Shepherd Village, CARF

Manage the health and safety program in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Maintain compliance and up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulations.

Act as a resource to other members of the management team, providing guidance and support as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or related field.

Certified Human Resources Professional designation.
-
JHSC Certification or willing to complete certification.
-
Minimum 5 years’ generalist experience.
-
Previous experience with WSIB claims, occupational health and safety, and disability management.
-
Previous experience managing/supervising staff.
-
Experience in a unionized health care organization preferred.
-
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including advanced Excel.

Experience with HRIS and Time & Attendance systems.
