Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi & Maki Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or food service environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi, maki, and other Japanese dishes with precision and creativity
- Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety guidelines
- Handle ingredients safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Assist in the development of new menu items and seasonal specials
- Serve dishes promptly while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and excellent customer service
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation policies to uphold food industry standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in serving, food preparation, cooking, or food handling within a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of sushi and maki preparation techniques
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills and knowledge of Japanese cuisine preferred
- Kitchen experience with a focus on meal preparation and food service excellence
- Passion for culinary arts and delivering high-quality dishes to customers
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings as needed
