You're not just a salesperson — you're the link between technical expertise and the field. As an Exploration Drilling Equipment Specialist, you play a central role in Groupe SMA's growth: you advise clients with real expertise, spot opportunities ahead of the competition, and propose solutions that actually work on site. One foot in technical, one foot in business development — that's what makes this role unique.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively develop your territory and identify opportunities ahead of the competition
- Promote and sell exploration drilling equipment and associated solutions
- Act as a technical advisor — understand field requirements and recommend the right solution
- Prepare and present compelling commercial and technical proposals
- Participate in demonstrations, field trials, and client presentations
- Rigorously follow up on quotes and lead negotiations through to signing
- Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients
- Work closely with technical teams to enhance proposed solutions
- Keep a close eye on the market: competition, trends, upcoming projects
- Represent SMA Équipements at trade shows, industry events, and client visits
Candidate Profile
- Experience in technical sales in the exploration drilling / mining sector
- Strong understanding of drilling equipment or heavy machinery
- Ability to simplify technical concepts without losing field credibility
- Strong business acumen, results-driven — you like to close
- Proven negotiation skills and client development abilities
- Bilingualism French / English (spoken and written)
- Availability for frequent travel between Quebec and Ontario, and the rest of Canada.
