Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Painter, Prep Man, and Body Man to join our automotive repair team here at Bright Star Auto. This role involves preparing vehicles for painting, applying paint and finishes, and performing body repairs to restore vehicles to their original condition. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a dealership or automotive repair environment, possess mechanical knowledge, and be proficient with various hand and power tools. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented setting with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by sanding, grinding, and cleaning to ensure proper paint adhesion
- Apply primer, paint, and clear coats using spray guns and other painting equipment
- Perform body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and filler application
- Use hand tools and power tools to disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed
- Conduct inspections to ensure paint quality and bodywork standards are met
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts or panels during repair processes
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to complete repairs within specified timeframes
Qualifications
- Prior dealership experience or automotive repair background preferred
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and repair procedures
- Proficiency with hand tools such as sanders, grinders, and wrenches
- Experience using power tools for bodywork and painting tasks
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of automotive painting techniques and materials
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Mechanic experience is a plus but not required
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
