Scope of the Position:
As a member of the Human Resources Team, the Human Resources Business Partner is the primary contact for RRSP/benefit administration, first level HRIS troubleshooting and compensation analysis. In addition, this role will provide accurate and relevant information and advice to all levels regarding Vallen’s policies, procedures, and personnel matters including performance management and investigations.
Major Responsibilities:
Total Rewards
- Compensation Analysis, survey participation, merit, incentive administration
- Maintain the enrolment tool (opening enrolment for new hires, life events, etc.)
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits
- Assist Finance with monthly benefit reconciliation & validate HRIS file from benefit provider
- Collect payments for premiums for associates that are on leave of absence
- Assist with coordination of bi-annual re-enrolment campaign
- Approve RRSP enrolments and enter contribution changes
Employee Relations
- Partner with senior regional leaders, people managers, and employees to provide consultative HR advice that supports the strategic growth of the business.
- Reviews and initiates action to resolve employee concerns and escalates as appropriate
- Provides advice on all areas of employee relations.
- Conducts workplace investigations and provides recommendations
- Facilitation of all employee leaves, short-term and long-term disability claims, unpaid leaves and maternity/paternity leaves
HR Information System
- Provide support to Managers as second level issue management
- HR Analytic reporting
- Primary support for report creation and distribution including HR KPIs reporting
- Act as first point support for password resets and employee inquiries
Education & Training:
- Knowledge of theory, principles and practices of total rewards, compensation, pay structure design and development, short term / long term incentive programs.
- Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now preferred
- Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent organization and mathematical skills
- High level of attention to detail
- CHRP Candidate will be given preference
