About the Role
As a CNC Machinist, you’ll be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machining equipment to manufacture, modify, and repair metal parts and components. This role plays a key part in ensuring production quality and efficiency while minimizing downtime through proper equipment care and proactive problem-solving.
Major Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC turning centres and CNC machining centres to produce products & parts to exact specifications
- Machine, modify, and repair metal products using a variety of specialized machining tools
- Monitor machining processes, adjusting feed rates and speeds to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Maintain quality control during the manufacturing process, and identify and correct issues proactively
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances with instruments such as micrometers, calipers and gauges
- Interpret and work from technical drawings that include GD&T
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain machines and tools to ensure optimal performance
- Follow all safety policies & procedures consistently
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience meeting the NOC 72100 requirements
- Demonstrated focus on producing quality work on time and with precision
- Strong English communication skills (Written & verbal)
- Highly proactive, organized, and able to work independently to achieve the assigned tasks
- Responsive, respectful, and capable of following directions to work within a team dynamic
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including GD&T
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards
- Ability to comply with company policies and procedures
- Able to lift to 50 lbs unassisted
- Capable of standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, and crouching for extended periods (3+ hours)
