The opportunity
The Gold Pan Saloon is a lively, well-loved restaurant and bar in downtown Whitehorse, known for its energy, character, and connection to the local community. As part of NVD, it is a place where quality, hospitality, and northern authenticity come together.
We are seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead back-of-house operations and drive kitchen excellence in a fast-paced environment. This is a working manager role for someone who leads from the line, sets the tone in the kitchen, and takes pride in delivering food that is consistent, well-executed, and reflective of the Gold Pan experience. You will balance strong culinary skill with practical leadership, training and supporting the team, managing costs and kitchen flow, and helping create a respectful, productive environment where people can grow and perform well.

- Guests consistently enjoy great-tasting, well-presented food that keeps them coming back
- The kitchen runs efficiently, with organized prep, strong execution, and quality standards consistently met
- Collaboration with front-of-house ensures smooth and responsive service
- Inventory, ordering, and food costs are well managed
- Staff are scheduled effectively, supporting strong coverage, productivity, and service flow
- Food safety, sanitation, and health standards are consistently met
- The kitchen team is well led, trained, and supported, contributing to a respectful, productive, and team-oriented environment
What you bring to the role
- Strong culinary experience in a commercial kitchen; leadership experience is preferred
