Reporting to the Manager, Client Service, this position is responsible for servicing assigned cases, both for small group (Selectpac) and regular group, some of which are complex in scope from a plan administration perspective. Duties will require direct in-person contact with clients and advisors. This position includes training responsibilities associated with the junior level service person. This position will also be responsible for project managing the installation of plans for new clients’ plans including preparation of master applications, training clients on administrative procedures including GroupNet. Daily personal, telephone and written contact with clients and advisors is an integral part of this position. This position will be expected to have or commit to completing the Group Benefits Associate designation under the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Program.

Accountabilities:
Working as part of the service team including the Account Manager and inside service support the incumbent will be:

Building and maintaining relationships with clients and advisors
Responsible for implementing, managing and maintaining benefits plans for assigned clients including preparing new case applications and amendment applications
Participating in employee meetings including preparation of employee announcement bulletins
Reviewing contracts and employee booklets, including providing interpretation of contract wording to clients
Meeting with clients on a regular basis including to review administrative and claims procedures
Train clients on GroupNet, and administrative processes, etc.
Work directly with head office and claims offices on issues/problems with respect to assigned clients
Responsible for meeting the non-financial expectations of specific clients including administration inquiries and problem-solving

Qualifications and Competencies:
Strong background with Group products including experience working with group systems and departments
Preference will be given to applicants with professional designations (or part thereof) CEBS
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to work independently and set priorities
Ability to solve problems and research information in order to determine appropriate decisions
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written including a persuasive, teaching style of communication
Project management skills and an ability to handle details quickly, correctly and efficiently
A car and driver license is required
Occasional Travel will be expected
A strong result-orientation as a portion of compensation is derived from quarterly bonuses
