Summary
The Residential HVAC Installation Technician will perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance. This role will play an integral part of our Installation Team as they will be the lead technician on one of our crews.
Job Duties
- Installation of residential heating and cooling equipment including but not limited to furnaces, air conditioners, ductless splits, heat pumps, hot water tanks, and garage heaters
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of HVAC equipment onsite.
- Conduct scheduled/preventative maintenance to HVAC equipment onsite.
- Perform regular property inspections of HVAC systems.
- Keep accurate records of space conditions including roof, HVAC and utilities.
- Provide general status reports for all properties as scheduled.
- Perform general cleanup of work sites.
- Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, pumps, fan units, control panels, thermostats, cooling towers, etc.
- Determine needed supplies and equipment.
- Monitors work quality, trains as needed.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Drive Shift Air Mechanical Ltd. vehicles, as required.
- Keep current with ongoing changes and new technology and adapt accordingly.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED.
- Completion of a minimum of three years craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and HVAC experience.
- Ability to comprehend detailed instructions and communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership.
- Personal tools required
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Possess a valid driver's license.
- Excellent time management and project management skills.
- Able to work well under pressure and strong attention to detail.
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
Work Conditions
- 24/7 availability may be required.
- Physical ability to lift up to 75lb.
- Travel to the site, and off-site locations will be required.
- Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Overtime as required.
