Position Summary
The CCP2/Integrated Stroke/Rehabilitation Unit is currently seeking a permanent Part Time Registered Nurse to join their healthcare team.

Department/Unit/Program Description
The CCP2/Rehab/Integrated Stroke unit is a specialized patient care area within Ross Memorial Hospital. A patient is admitted there for general rehab and acute stroke care. Each patient will have rehab goals to support their treatment and to meet the goals of a safe discharge home. The Integrated Stroke Unit cares for patients that have had an acute stroke and need specialized stroke care to maximize recovery potential including rehab functional goals. FE (Functional Enhancement) consists of a slow stream rehabilitation program for those patients who are unable to tolerate the intensity of the inpatient rehab program.

Essential Qualifications
Current registration and member in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario, compliant with the Professional Standards and Standards of Practice for RNs
- BCLS or current CPR certificate essential, on hire
- IV and CVAD certification (or commitment to certify)
- Physical Assessment course (or commitment to complete)
- Post diploma courses and specialty experience in rehabilitation and/or gerontology. Commitment to principles of care in these specialty areas is required
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Attendance record in line with norms outlined in RMH Attendance Awareness Policy
- Ability to develop in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, comprehensive and creative plans of care that reflect the complexity of client needs
- Experience with and demonstrated skill in providing client - centred care models
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with patients, families and professional team members, and community partners
- Demonstrated skill in safe/correct techniques for transferring and positioning patients
- Ability to make decisions and manage workload and prioritize in a complex, work environment
- Commitment to ethical practice including, but not limited to, confidentiality
- Professional practice reflects Ross Memorial corporate and CCP Program vision, values and goals
- Effective leadership of interdisciplinary team in a complex patient care environment
- Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
Preferred Qualifications
- MDS/NRS assessment tools would be an asset
- B.Sc.N
- Trained in Epic - training can be provided, but must pass required testing.
Hours of Work
Must be able and willing to work 12 hour shifts, days, nights, weekends, Monday to Sunday. Shift and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA Collective Agreement.
