Math and English Tutors
Tutor Doctor
Orillia, ON

Job Description

Tutor Doctor is the largest one on one in-home tutoring company in the world and as a result we work with thousands of students every year. We seek out kind, caring and professional people to join our team of tutors to provide support to our students and help them reach their academic goals.

Most tutors can expect to tutor an average of 2-10 hours per week depending on their own preferences and matching potential. Tutoring normally occurs weekdays 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm but sometimes parents request weekend times as well. Candidates must have at least 2 years of post secondary education (college/university/trades) to be a tutor. Tutors travel to students homes. This is a contract position.

Why Tutor for Tutor Doctor?

Tutor Doctor is the largest and most reputable in-home tutoring organizations in Ontario. Our brand is recognizable for quality and professionalism, therefore tutoring for Tutor Doctor looks great on a resume or application for a teaching program.

Tutor Doctor is part of a franchise system of over 500 offices in 16 different countries, therefore all processes are structured, standard and well organized.

Tutor Doctor’s clients sign a contract, purchase and pay for a package of hours and pre-determine the number of tutoring hours per week. As a result, our families are committed to their tutoring schedule and package duration. This is of benefit to the tutor as they can rely on consistent tutoring income and avoid frequent cancellations, or have their student quit out-right which often occurs with “pay as you go” tutoring services.

An Education Consultant meets with the family prior to tutoring to personalize the program for the student, and ensure we are clear on the student’s needs and goals. The tutor receives a detailed report about the student to use as a guide for the development of the tutoring plan. Tutor Doctor matches the student with the tutor that is the best fit for them. Tutors plan their sessions according to their students needs and work with the current curriculum the student is learning.

Tutor Doctor tutors can accept or decline any tutoring assignment that they wish and can tutor as many students as they would like. The flexibility that Tutor Doctor offers allows the tutor the opportunity to tutor around their own personal availability and location.

Tutor Doctor offers a wide variety of resource websites and digital curriculum platforms so that our tutors are able to spend their time tutoring and not searching for resources (unless they choose to). In addition, our customer relationship management computer system allows for easy tracking and reporting of tutoring sessions.

Tutor Doctor offers support and guidance to our tutors and appreciate all of our tutors as the VIP’s in our Tutor Doctor Team!
