Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Painter/Labourer to join our construction and restoration team. This role involves performing a variety of painting and labour tasks across residential, and commercial, projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in construction painting, restoration, or carpentry is highly valued. This position offers opportunities for skill development and career growth within the construction industry.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and priming as needed
- Apply paint, stain, or other finishes to various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate application of paint and finishes
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment safely and effectively
- Follow schematics and technical instructions for commercial painting projects
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste properly
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and project managers
Skills
- Experience in construction, restoration, or industrial painting preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment
- Knowledge of residential and commercial painting techniques
- Familiarity with caulking, surface preparation, and finishing processes
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for teamwork and client interactions
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
