Westboro Beach Club is looking for a motivated, hardworking, and reliable Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team for the summer season. Position Summary
The Line Cook / Prep Cook is responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking menu items and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, and supporting the overall success of daily food service operations.
The ideal candidate is dependable, works well under pressure, pays attention to detail, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team.
Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare ingredients including chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, preparing sauces, and completing daily prep lists.
- Cook menu items according to recipes, specifications, and food safety standards.
- Set up and stock stations before service.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met.
- Monitor food levels throughout service and restock as needed.
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment.
- Follow all food handling, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Properly label, date, and store food products.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Minimize waste and support inventory control efforts.
- Participate in opening and closing kitchen duties.
Teamwork
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Support fellow team members during busy periods.
- Assist with special events, group bookings, and high-volume service periods.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen, prep cook, or line cook experience is an asset.
- Food Handler Certification.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow recipes and directions accurately.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Schedule
- Full-time and part-time seasonal positions available.
- Daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required.
- Flexible scheduling available.
