**Job Summary:**
The Director of Care (DOC) is the most senior clinical leadership role at The Maples My Life Retirement. Reporting directly to the General Manager and Executive Committee, the DOC is accountable for the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of all resident care services delivered at the home. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Care to oversee the delivery of exceptional care services in our senior living community. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior care, retirement home management, memory care and a passion for providing quality care to residents. Must be an RN in good standing with the CNO. Must have PIECES training.
**Duties:**
Lead multidisciplinary care conferences; ensure timely and accurate documentation of care
decisions in Yardi (or equivalent EMR/RAI platform)
Implement and oversee a robust Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) program in alignment with Ontario Public Health standards and RHRA requirements; act as IPAC lead for the home
- Supervise and lead a team of care staff to ensure high-quality care services are provided
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual resident needs
- Manage budgeting and financial aspects related to care services
- Oversee medication administration and ensure compliance with regulations
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and families to address resident needs effectively
- Implement programs for dementia care and assisted living services
**Skills:**
- Proven experience in supervising and leading care teams
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff
-Proficiency in Yardi EHR
- Budgeting knowledge to manage financial aspects of care services effectively
- Expertise in senior care, retirement home management, memory care and assisted living facilities
- Proficiency in medication administration protocols and regulations
- Experience in developing dementia care programs and services
